Garvin County Election Board
Needs
Republican Precinct Workers
According to State Rules, polling places are to be manned by two Republican and
one Democrat precinct officers, since the majority of voters are registered Democratic. However, in Garvin County, we
don't have enough Republican poll workers, so many polling places have only one or no Republicans. The
Election Board needs workers of all Party Affiliations.
Precinct workers are paid $87 per day, and mileage is paid if you are assigned to
a polling place over ten miles from your home. There is one day's training required, for which you will also be
paid, including mileage.
Precinct workers generally work up to eight days
per year depending on the State's voting schedule. We also need someone to be appointed to the Absentee Ballot Board. If you would like to learn how to become a precinct worker in your area, we will help you find your county election
board to register for training.
